How do you become a Foster Carer?

Initial Visit
To start with you'll receive a home visit from a Family Placement Officer to discuss your interest in fostering and assess whether you have the skills, qualities and accommodation required.
Skills to Foster
The next step is our Skills to Foster training which is an integral part of the assessment process. These courses are run across the County at regular intervals. If you are a couple you are both required to attend. The topics covered during the sessions will give you a good understanding of what is involved in fostering.
On completion of the course you will be given an application form to complete and return to us. With your consent we'll then carry out personal references, health background and criminal records checks.
