Supervision, Support & Development

You will be linked with a FPO from the local team who will maintain regular contact with you and your family. They will provide you with advice, guidance and practical support to assist you in the task of fostering.
An outline of the support and supervision you will receive is found below:
- A qualified Social Worker will oversee your case and provide you with support and guidance.

Regular supervision and support visit by your link worker
- Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week supported by our Out of Hours telephone advice service and Emeregency Duty Service.
- Provision of additional equipment for children joining your family.
- Additional financial payments including a payment towards Christmas, Birthday and initial start up grant of £150 on approval.
- Respite is available to support placements where it is agreed as part of the plan.
- We provide access to full and varied training, including the Skills to Foster course and Safer Caring.
- Carers are given free membership to Fostering Network, a specialist organisation who supports and help foster carers.
- Access to specialist assessment and support via our Children's Mental Health Service.
- Support regarding education/school issues from the Looked After Children's education service.
