The Fostering Panel

The Panel is constituted in accordance with The Fostering Services Regulations 2011. The Panel consists of a cross section of people including professionals and lay persons interested in fostering. They will have read the Form F report compiled as part of the assessment and ask you and your Fostering Social worker some questions. They will then make a recommendation as to your suitability to foster. This will then be confirmed/or not by the Agency Decision Maker (Assistant Director Children & Families branch).
In the rare occasion an applicant is refused approval they are invited to make a written submission to appeal this decision if they wish.
At a later stage, if you wish to change the type of fostering you want to do or age group you wish to foster, the panel will consider these changes.
